Unusable Engineering has launched the Scientist Suite, its first plugin lineup for macOS. The suite consists of three plugins—Curves & Membranes, Spectral Pressure Chamber, and Cavitation Fractures—designed around physical models where audio processing and visual feedback derive from the same underlying behaviors.
Curves & Membranes is a synthesizer featuring a Bézier waveform generator, orbital modulation, and a vibrating membrane model in the filter, aimed at producers seeking compact, unconventional mono synth sounds. Spectral Pressure Chamber processes incoming spectral energy across three connected pressure zones on a shared membrane, suitable for adding presence to transients in drums, basslines, and leads. Cavitation Fractures employs hydrodynamic cavitation-inspired motion for distortion and texture, targeting users interested in aggressive, unstable effects.
All plugins are available in VST3 and AU formats exclusively for macOS, with no factory presets or hidden menus for immediate usability. Pricing includes Curves & Membranes at €59 EUR, Spectral Pressure Chamber at €29 EUR, Cavitation Fractures for free, Scientist Suite bundle at €69 EUR, and the Full Suite at €89 EUR.
