Triple A Audio has partnered with Plugin Boutique to introduce an exclusive limited-time sale on its Kontakt instrument library featuring the unique sounds of the Armenian Qanun.
Developed in collaboration with Serj Tankian, a Lebanese-Armenian musician and songwriter (known for his work with System of a Down), the meticulously sampled Folk Noir: Qanun is now available at a 20% discount for a limited period.
The history of the Qanun dates back to ancient times, with its presence in Assyrian courts and mentions by Greek historians. Still popular in the Middle East and beyond, Triple A Audio has chosen this historic instrument as their flagship release.
This sampled version of the Armenian Qanun offers an authentic digital representation, originating from a small village in Southern Caucasus. Constructed from wood with a base covered in animal skin, it features metal levers and wooden tuning pegs for adjusting pitches across a range of up to 3 and a half octaves. The player utilizes a silver thimble and bull horn picks on their index fingers.
Designed for Kontakt 6 or higher, the Folk Noir: Qanun is currently priced at $79.99 USD until April 19th, 2024, down from the regular price of $99.99 USD.
